Nepali Congress leader Chakra Prasad Bastola has suffered from brain haemmorrahge on Saturday.

He had collapsed while taking part in a programme organised by the Banstola Samaj in Birat Chowk of Biratnagar at around 3 pm today.

He was rushed to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) for treatment, where he was diagnosed with the brain haemmorraghe

The BPKIHS referred to him to the Siliguri-based North Bengal Neuro Hospital for surgery.

A team of neurosurgeons led by Dr Siddhi Raj Sharma is carrying out operation on the NC leader in Siliguri.

Further medical information of leader Bastola is expected only after 9 pm, after completion of the operation.
