Nepali Muslim Society on Sunday demanded US government to take stern action against filmmakers of Innocence of Muslim.
16 Muslim organisations organised a press conference in Reporters Club here in the capital today and urged the Nepali government to take the initiative.
During the conference, Chairman of the Islamic Association Nepal Gulam Rasul claimed that some sources are hatching conspiracy to ruin the relationship between the American and Muslim society.
Rasul demanded the Nepali government take initiative for action against the film makers for the film which is considered anti-Islamic.
He informed that Muslims are due to submit a memorandum to the US Embassy on Monday with a peace rally.
Chairman of the Muslim Ittehat Association Taaj Mahomad said that they are ready to picket the US Embassy in Nepal if they do not take action.
The movie has sparked violent protests throughout the Muslim world for denigrating Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.
Scores of people have been injured in the world during clashes between demonstrators and police over the issue of the movie Innocence of Muslims, with several being killed including the US ambassador to Libya. - TheHimalayanTimes
