Nepali Congress (NC) is set to announce a people’s protest after organising a mass demonstration in the capital on Friday.
Addressing a press conference in the capital on Wednesday, Kathmandu district president Bhimsen Das Pradhan informed that they are due to organise a mass demonstration marking the 97th birthday of late NC leader Ganeshman Singh.
Pradhan said that the demonstration to be held on Friday is just a trailer adding that if Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai-led government does not step down on its own then they would hold another stern protest with CPN-UML and other opposition parties.
President Pradhan said that the upcoming protest is a symbol of people’s agitation for democracy and further made it clear that the storm of protest would remove the Bhattarai-led government.
He informed that the masses will gather at Shanti Batika at 11:30 am and converge into a corner assembly at Basantapur.
According to him, Party president Sushil Koirala, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel among others will address the programme.
