Oli's medical trip to India postponed
CPN-UML leader KP Sharma Oli's medical trip to India has been postponed after improvement in his health condition. Doctors involved in his treatment had decided to take him to India in an air ambulance for further treatment after his health condition had deteriorated on Friday.
Personal aide to the UML leader, Ramesh Acharya, informed that the plan to airlift the ailing leader had cancelled after improvements in his health condition. "Further decision will be taken tomorrow after considering developments of his health conditions," he said. Oli was supposed to be flown to Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon near Indian Capital New Delhi for further treatment.
Oli was admitted to the Coronary Curative Unit of Norvic Hospital on Friday evening after he complained of chest pain. He has been diagnosed with pneumonia in his lungs.
Oli, who was hospitalised in New York owing to a low haemoglobin count last week, returned to Nepal on Wednesday. On his way back, Oli had undergone a follow-up examination at Apollo Hospital. He had a kidney transplant in India in 2008.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, Nepali Congress Vice President Ram Chandra Paudel visited Oli at the hospital this morning and took notes on his health condition. -Ekantipur
