Acclaimed Nepali Bollywood actor Manisha Koirala is undergoing her first chemotherapy session in New York on Wednesday after a successful ovarian cancer in December.

In her Facebook post today, Koirala she has expressed her apprehension and thanked her loved ones for the love and support they have been giving her.

The 42-year-old veteran of Bollywood films described her feelings as “between being nervous of unknown n courage to face the challenge” and went on to appreciate her parents, friends and family. She gushed that nothing was more important that the love and care from her near and dear ones.
"Today is my first chemo..between being nervous of unknown n courage to face the challenge,I m in a state of prayer n in gratitude of the support I hv received from mom,dad,koi,Yulia though she is far but her love n prayers do touch me..n so many other loving friends n fam..thank you for ur love n prayers..nothing else is more impo then love n care..thank you..until next time. ♥"

In another post yesterday, she announced that she had got a haircut which she termed a “chemo cut” and gave credit to actror Lisa Ray, who earlier herself battled cancer, for being an inspiration.

"Got a chemo cut...thank u Lisa ray fr this term..in fact thank you or your blog,thank you for ur honesty n boldness...god bless you..:-)) "

Hundreds of her fans have liked the posts and wished her good luck and good health.

Koirala was diagnosed with ovarian cancer for which she successfully underwent surgery on December 10 in Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre, New York and was subsequently discharged on December 18.

Her manager Subroto Ghosh had estimated that she would need to remain in New York for three more months for her treatment. -Thehimalayantimes
