At least 15 passengers were killed and 44 others injured when a bus en route to Kathmandu skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge at Khangkalkot area in Sindhupalchowk on Wednesday.

Area Police Office Melamchi said that the deceased are yet to be identified. The packed bus (Ba-2-Kha 3645) lost control and slipped off the road at around 8.30 am, killing ten passengers on the spot.

Meanwhile, a Nepali Army chopper has airlifted all of the injured to the Capital for further treatment.
